Cyrus Guzder, an industrialist who is also an urban environmental activist, has played an active role in a wide range of urban issues and, in particular, in the conservation of Heritage buildings and precincts in Mumbai. He has served as a Governor of the MMR Heritage Society, a member of the Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee, a Trustee on the Board of the INTACH UK Trust and also as a Trustee of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya (formerly the Prince of Wales Museum of Western India). He is also a founder Director of The Indian Institute for Human Settlements in Bangalore, and a member of the Court of Governors of the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, and a Trustee of The Asiatic Society of Bombay and The Marg Foundation.

Navroz Mody was the Convener for the formation of BEAG and its first Vice President. He has been actively involved with several environmental groups and issues around the country. He was President of Palani Hills Conservation Council in Kodaikanal and instrumental in pursuing the “Pleasant Stay Hotel” case which put an end to executive powers over master plans and resulted in the imprisonment of the then CM of TN. He was also instrumental in holding Ms. Unilever liable for the mercury contamination of Kodaikanal, and was also the Campaign Coordinator for Greenpeace India.

Studied Ancient Indian History & Culture. Later did a degree Archaeology and Anthropology and finally obtained a Ph.D in Prehistoric Archaeology.From 1989 to 2000 she was Editor of Man & Environment, the Journal of the Indian Society for Prehistoric and Quaternary Research. Subsequently worked in the field of Child & Family Welfare, in education with the SCII Pune, The Petit School Pune, C.J.High School Trust in Gujarat.

Being deeply interested in environmental issues, she is a Committee Member of the Bombay Environmental Action Group & PARISAR (Pune) and in the past has been a Member of INTACH’s Pune Chapter.

Studied Medicinein England and worked there while post-graduating. Practicing as Consultant Physician and Nephrologist in Pune since last 50 years. Brought up and lives on family horse breeding farm, the Yeravada Stud & Agricultural Farm. Deeply interested in nature (particularly in birds), environment& conservation. On board of Bombay Environmental Action Group and Convenor of Mahableshwar-Panchgani Environmental Protection Group. Founder Member Ecological Society Pune.

Served for several years on High Court appointed Monitoring Committee, and subsequently on MoEF High Level Monitoring Committee for Mahableshwar-Panchgani ESZ. Associated with MulaMutha Bird Sanctuary, Pune

Utsal Karani is involved in several activities of public interest. He studied at Narsee Monjee College of Economics and Institute of Management Studies and is a tax and finance consultant. He is also the Vice President of Janhit Manch, a Mumbai based NGO, which has been working on several matters of public importance and specifically espousing its causes through the mechanism of public interest litigation as well as by knocking at the doors of various statutory and governmental authorities.

Vivek Jhangiani is a graduate in business administration from the US. He has been an entrepreneur in the consumer product business for over 30 years. Motivated by having seen Shyam Chainani work passionately hard in creating and growing BEAG to a much admired organisation he developed a passion for the environment and heritage preservation. He is also on the board of advisors of Toybank, an NGO that educates children through play.
