A proposal towards the beautification of Venna Lake involving helipad, ghat developments, Hanuman Mandir precinct, art installations, etc. was proposed by the Nagar Parishad to the HLMC in 2018, while the issue of the leakages in the dam remained pending since 2007.

As this proposal was discussed and seriously being considered by the HLMC, in 2021, BEAG brought up the issue of leakage at three places under Venna Dam. 

Our persistent follow up led to a meeting being called by the Collector, Satara on 25th February, 2022 inviting BEAG and  various other Govt. departments to discuss the issue. The Collector issued directions to the Irrigation Department for various actions to be initiated and an action taken  report was to be submitted within a month. 

Till date no action has been initiated by the Irrigation Department and BEAG continues to relentlessly pursue the matter. We have once again written to the newly constituted Monitoring Committee drawing their attention to the issue and requesting for action to be taken.
